Take this with a grain of salt. Im just showing this because its pretty funny. The 12z euro has bertha at hr 216 about a 1000 miles off the nc coast. THEN at hr 240 it moved bertha wnw to a position of 300 miles off the nj coast.

I think

Bertha heads out to sea after scraping NC. It's interesting to see that there are two areas of high pressure that are strong to the north, so based on that model it looks like Bertha may stall.

the coastal immediate temps are to cool, but you go about 50 miles off shore and its in the 70s, you go 200-300 miles offshore and its in the 80s

Not a chance

there is no way it hits the NJ coast. Plus the water is too cold for a tropical storm, it will just fall apart.
