LIMITED SEVERE WEATHER THIS EVENING
Posted: (June 23, 2008 04:45 pm)

I think we do run the risk of seeing some strong storms in the Lehigh Valley area later this evening, but I do not think it will be a widespread event.  The active weather is still way back in Pittsburg as of 4:45 pm and it will take several hours for any storms or showers to work across the state this evening.  What will limit the severe threat will be the loss of energy due to the setting sun, so any storm that do fire up will weken slightly as the sun sets and night rolls in.  With that said, i would not be suprised if some areas do get a heavy thunderstorm, but as of what I am seeing right now, I'm not even sure if a severe weather watch will be issued at all.  The rest of week looks veyr typical of June, with a shower threat during the afternoons, and highs climbing into the 80s through the week.  I'll have a sneak peak at 4th of July weather later this week!!!!!

So Far
Posted: (June 23, 2008 05:05 pm)

It has been rather inoccuous over here at the coast, all the energy has slid East of here and it's been rather cloudy all day, that's not to say if we get some sun soon it won't rain, we are due to get some sort of Downpours later on from Heat Induced cells, the rain has been dodging me for the last 3 days.I think your correct about the front being to far West for us to see the brunt of any Severe, but I think we can see Pre Frontal influence just from what we have to work with now, meaning the atmosphere is prime with Moisture as well as the Heat,Sun,Lift and Energy Dynamics that is infiltrating the Region now...
