Another aweful day outside as a southeasterly windflow aloft and stagnant air at the surface have put much of central VA again under the blanket of thick smoke from the fires burning in North Carolina. The NWS has issued an Air Quality alert and a hazerdous weather advisory. Reading the forecast discussion, it looks like winds will remain out of the south, shifting to the southwest through Saturday until a cold front crosses through Saturday evening. I very much hope we can squeeze some good rain out of any storms that pop up, or at least a shift to winds out of the west or northwest.
