TORNADO OUTBREAK TODAY
Posted: (June 11, 2008 09:26 am)

From: http://omahaweatheroffice.web.officelive.com

The Lull is over. Many locals in Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa got a rude awakening once again early this Wednesday Morning. Their were isolated Severe Storms over that area. A few reports of large hail were reported as well as a few flash flood warnings for Western Iowa. The Storm Prediction Center and the Omaha Weather Office are both forecasting a Major and possibly life threatening severe weather and tornado outbreak today and tonight, as well as Extreme Flash Flooding. Extreme Wind Shear and Cape and all other ingredients are all in place for a Tornado Outbreak. The great area of concentration for Significant Long Track Tornado's is Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa. Extremely large hail, up to softball size and damaging winds will all be possible in the area. Flooding Rains associated with the Severe Storms should produce rains from 1-4.00" of rainfall from Eastern Nebraska to Iowa. Please see Long Range Forecast for more information. The Omaha Nebraska Tornado surprised many locals in the City early Sunday morning. This storm was a storm that surpseid many. It proved that you should never let your guard down on any type of Thunderstorms. AS they can spawn Tornados at any moment. So you can trust the Omaha Weather Office any time for In depth Severe Weather Coverage, no matter what time of day it is. Please click the 'Listen to NOAA Weather Radio' link at the top and choose any state where you live in and listen LIVE! to the NWS Offices Weather Radio Broadcast Forecast. This is very handy if you dont have a weather radio.

We had our share of severe weather last night with trees down and power out. Good luck out there, I could only imagine what a big tornado would do here.
