Yes like a good number of you I am heading to the beach this weekend. I will be doing Wildwood tomorrow than Lewes DE on Sunday and Monday via the cool Cape May-Lewes Ferry.  The kids are demanding the big rides at Wildwood so as a parent I have been overuled, you know how that goes.  So how does it look this weekend ?

NJ/NY BEACHES.................

Without a doubt take a jacket this weekend. Yes we'll sun most of the weekend but we have three issues going on this weekend.  This is a holiday weekend that gets warmer each day with Memorial Day the winner of the weekend.  The first issue is temps in the 60s tomorrow, not exactly temps to lay out in but the sun will feel good.  The next issue for Saturday is the wind. North at 10-15mph with a gust to 20 will blow some sand and out the wind chill, yeah wind chill into the 50s. The last issue is ocean temps still in the 50s to maybe 60s in spots. That will keep temps cool even into Sunday.

Speaking of Sunday, this will feature less wind and a shift in that wind to a land breeze. Sitting in the sun on Sunday will feel about 15 degrees warmer due to less wind, and no real ocean sea breeze.

Memorial is the real winner with temps about 75 a light breeze and a day full of sun. So you'll feel like 55 on Saturday, 66 on Sunday and 80 on Monday. Those numbers are based on sea breeze, wind and temps.  Remember to bring the sun block because even if it feels like 55 the sun is very strong this time of year.  Your body has been hidden in clothes all spring for the most part and getting sunburn this weekend is higher than any part of the summer !

DE/MD BEACHES........................

The difference here is you are further south than NY/NJ beaches so the ocean temps are a few degrees warmer and the temps are a bit higher. The feel of the weekend is 60 on the beach Saturday, 70 on Sunday and 83 on Monday.  I like my burgers Med. Rare please ! Have a great Holiday Weekend !
