My 2008-2009 Winter Forecast to be released on October 27th
Posted: (October 02, 2008 06:58 pm)

Hey everyone we are now into October and the weather is definitly getting cooler out.  We are getting into the time where people are really going to start thinking about winter.  Winter forecasts will probably start to come out during the next several weeks.  I plan to release mine on the 27th of this month.  I have some thoughts in my head about this winter.  I'm not going to tell you a lot right now, you will have to wait until the end of this month, but what I can say is that this winter won't be like last year.  Snowlovers/winter lovers, this winter should be better than last year.  However will it be below average, average, or above average in the temperature/snow departments?  What will the ENSO pattern be?  Right now conditions are neutral.  Will the NAO and AO be positve, near neutral, or negative?  What are the chances of getting some big events this year? How much snow is normal?, considering the last few winters have been below average in snow. Also when might the first snow fall?  All of these questions will be answered in my forecast.  This will be a niced and detailed forecast.  I will be explaining some things that some people may not know or understand.

This will be my first winter forecast that I will be putting together and posting online. I;m excited about it.  This forecast will be from December through March.  I will have a seperate forecast for November before I release my winter forecast.  Winter is approaching quickly and before we know it, cold weather will be here.

looking forward to it, and to see how it compares to forecasts issued later in November. I hope you plan on issuing an updated one in late November/early december just to see the comparison.
