Blazin' Desert Days

So it is October and for much of the country it is beginning to feel like autumn, my favorite season! I thoroughly enjoy the changing of the leaves, the cooler, crisper air and the smell of fall. The start of fall does NOT feel the same when you are in the desert of southern California also known as San Bernardino. It was so unbearably Hot yesterday when I was out that way. I noticed that the forecast for downtown Los Angeles was 100 degrees which is normally at least a good several degrees cooler than its inland neighbors. I would say that it was a few degrees over 100 which it doesn't even reach in ultimate summer heat some places! After I got back to Alhambra to go to school, I realized that the inland areas of Los Angeles county were just as ridiculously warm as the desert had been. The heat made me lazy and sluggish as I was trekking across campus with a load of books and Jeans on! Who wears jeans when it's that HOT?! The only way people were meant to tolerate those kind of temperatures are in bathing suits and at bodies of water! I had some homework to read before my class began so as I sat on the bench outside of the building reading I began to nod off repeatedly. Finally as my day ended and headed home to bed I had to sleep with a ceiling fan and no covers as there was still no relief from the heat! Amazing what different temperatures fall can feel like! I am looking forward to this weekend however with the cooler temps and possiblity of some RAIN!!
