Fall Officially Starts on Monday, but Fall Weather is Already Here
Posted: (September 19, 2008 07:20 pm)

Well fall officially starts on Monday at 11:44 A.M, but fall weather has been here. New England and Northern PA had freeze and frost advisories in place.  Some places had lows in the 20s.  They are several weeks ahead of scedule for that kind of stuff.  The past several days here were also very fall like.  Highs had generally been in the low to mid 70s, some places stayed in the 60s yesterday.  Morning lows around the region have been in the 40s and 50s the past several mornings including this morning.  A nice fall airmass has been in place. The weather pattern has been very dry and it looks like it will continue to be dry for probably the next week or so.  I think its great fall weather has arrived a little early, but we will go a long time without any rainfall.  Its never really a good thing we go a long time without any rain.

So along with the dry weather, the early fall-like weather will continue on, however a brief Sunday warm-up is in store.  So today expect another nice day. It should be a few degrees to several degrees warmer than yesterday.  Expect highs in the low to mid 70s under mostly sunny skies.  Some places have some clouds this morning, but those should dissipate by late morning. Tonight should be another cool night, but it won't be as cool as last night.  Some places will see 40s again(N/W of philly), but I think most places will see lows range from 50-54.

Now tomorrrow is the day we will have a little warm-up.  It won't be significant, but it will be warmer than the past several days.  The area of high pressure that has been controlling the weather will slowly move away and dissipate.  The result will be warmer temps.  Highs tomorrow will be in the upper 70s to low 80s.  It will be a mostly to partly sunny day.  It will be noticably different tomorrow.

Now I said the Sunday warm-up would be brief.  A very dry cold front should come through Sunday night and that will bring another high pressure in and more cooler weather.  Highs from Monday through Friday will range from 70 to 76 with lows in the 40s/50s under mostly sunny skies. It will continue to be dry.  When will it rain again?  We will find out sooner or later.

I'm excited about this fall-like weather.  New England and Northern PA had frost and freezes already.  Fall seems to be arriving early. I like that a lot.  A trough is over the east like it has been for many weeks overall.  Could these be hints of what winter will be like?  I have some ideas of our winter in my head.  Here is one idea I have: Early snow!  You will have to wait and stay tuned to late next month.  That is when my winter forecast will be released.
