TORNADO IN ALLENTOWN
Posted: (September 06, 2008 10:10 pm)

From what I have heard from people on the block where the possible funnel touched down, it was a weak tornado.  My parents drove by later in the night and mentioned the damage was exensive with several roads blocked off and numerous trees down from the damage.

I can't believe it was an EF1 tornado in Allentown! It's a little to close to home for me....about 6 miles. No warnings or anything....in fact, I didn't even hear thunder. Is it possible to have a tornado without a thunderstorm? At least nothing was destroyed and nobody was hurt.

Not Typical

Hey, Hanna reminded me of a strong noreaster and I thought we would get by with that and most of the area did until I heard about the EF1 tornado for Allentown. In regards to Hanna then for most of the Delaware Valley it was nothing we have never seen before and impacts were minimal. Kevin
