GUESS GUSTAV LANDFALL
Posted: (August 30, 2008 07:38 am)

GUSTAV LANDFALL - (take a guess) - 2nd posting/final posting for guesses
originally posted: (August 27, 2008 07:19 am)

I originally posted this on August 27.  It is getting lost in all the other blogs and just wanted to resurface it so others can take their guesses.  Previous guesses are also copied in.  Have fun...

Let’s have some fun and see whose prediction can come closest to where Gustav 08 will make landfall in the US. From looking over past hurricanes I see Gustav’s track very similar to Galveston 1900 (made landfall on Sept 8 1900) and also Claudette of 79 (Grand Isle Louisiana). Look back at these tracks and it looks pretty scary. I would love to see the Gulf Coast spared as this guy looks like he will become very angry as soon as he hits open waters again. Predict your date, location, and which category you think. No prizes except a pat on the back and that a boy (or girl). I know we are still at least a week away but this is what makes it fun.  (Now only about 3-4 days away - I still continue with my prediction)

My prediction is in or around Galveston on September 2 at a Cat 4.

seems to shy away from what some models are predicting. I think this hits the Texas/Louisiana border on Sep 3.

Models bouncing around

The new eye of Gustav makes this an interesting storm. Throw Hanna in the mix and the retrograding LOW off New England and oh my this could be a challenge. My call is HOUMA LA as a high CAT 3 on Sept 2.

I just want to verify since I was not explicit with exact Description.. I should have included on the Border of Texas--- Louisiana.. Phew, now I can Sleeep, I'm probably too late on the timing though, But forward progress is in Queston near Land... I have to stand by my 1st Call... I should also add CAT- 3.43567 to be precise, LOL..
