What I am Doing With Fay
Posted: (August 19, 2008 08:35 am)

Good Morning all,

Well, Fay made landfall around 5AM near Cape Ramono Florida.  Fay is currently moving NNE at 9mph and has not yet started to weaken.  As a matter of fact Fay has actually held its own or slightly strengthened as she was at 990 mb at landfall and at 8AM she is at 988MB.

What I am doing with Fay.  I will watch her as she moves towards the Space Coast to Daytona Beach.  Fay will then make it just off shore from there and stall in the Atlantic.  Where Fay goes is compltely contingent on what happens with high pressure buidling down into the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic States.  This high will determine how far north Fay can go,  Does she just sit and spin.  Does she move to the west again.  There are lots of questions with no real answers.  Once again this morning there is some agreement with the models to bring it back to the west in Northern Flordia or Georgia but I don't know if those agreements are right.  There are other models that want to bring it to North Carolina.  Until we get a good feel where things are setting up towards our area the jury is out on anyone track of Fay.  The best idea is to stay tuned becuause this is a nowcating event.

Here is a look at fay on radar as she slowly progresses NNE through the pennisula of Florida:
