So far, August has been a dry month, with only 0.02" of rain at KCI even though it rained lightly several times. This is likley going to change with a slow moving storm system pushing south, and affect our area sometime next week.
Here are three rainfall forecasts from the 6z GFS:

Our area has the lowest amount of rain, but this storm is very uncertain. Right now the latest data is agreeing with the LRC (2007-2008) that it will try to close off as it approaches us then it will just slide by. The 2007-2008 LRC is transitioning into next years brand new, and uniqe LRC. I think the the very weakened old pattern is still there, but the new pattern is beginning to mix in, so it is hard to tell what this storm will do. This storm is still too similar to others, and still closely related to the part of the pattern of around 50 and 100 days ago.
There is a chance of rain and thunderstorms today, around 30%.
