RECORD WARM SUMMER COMING TO AN END

As summer begins to wind down and we move away from the hottest part of the year we can look back on what has been one of the hotter summers on record throughout the area. Aside from a week or two of cloudy unsettled weather the summer was realtively dry and hot, from beginning to end. The early heatwave in June kicked off what many outlets are saying will be the one of the hotter summers on record, and many areas posted a top 5 record for the month of July, including many Jersey shore communities such as Atlantic City. I believe the average temp for July in Atlantic City was above 73 degrees which would make it the third or fourth hottest July on record. I know here in the Lehigh Valley my grass burned out before the fourth of July and just made a come back after last weeks showery weather. Being a sun and heat lover, this was one of the better summers I can remember since the late 90s where we finally had 90+ degree temps for more than just 1 or 2 days in a row, in fact we had more than 3 heat waves. As I look ahead and see no days above 90 in the forecast I realize summer is ending and now can't wait for those cool nights and falling leaves with college football.
