Edoward Has Formed

Good Evening All,

Well, as I thought yesterday we have tropical Depression 5 in the north central Gulf of Mexico.  Tropical Depression 5 has become Edouard that was quick!!

Now what:

Well, it will slowly strengthen over the next day or two and will more than likely become Tropical Storm Edouard.  This feature will move west and will affect the Gulf Coast of Texas more than likely further north than say where Dolly made landfall some where near Galveston Texas as a strong Tropical Storm perhaps a weak Hurricane.    As you know though the waters in the Gulf of Mexico are very warm and storms can blow up pretty quickly down there.  The limiting factor in Tropical Depression 5's development may be some northerly and northeasterly wind shear around the huge high pressure that is giving those people in the lower Tennessee Valley fits with heat.

Atlantic:

Looks active out there as well just east of the Islands and a few waves approaching the islands will have to be monitored for further development as they head off to the west northwest.

Here is a look at Tropical Depression 5 in the Gulf of Mexico:
