Hurricane Fabian
Hurricane Fabian was an Atlantic hurricane from 2003. It hit Bermuda in early September, and developed a tropical wave in the Atlantic Ocean on August 25. It attained a peak wind speed of 145 mph, but when it hit Bermuda the speed decreased to 120 mph. Fabian was responsible for 8 deaths, 4 of them in Bermuda, due to strong waves. The total cost of the damage is about $336 million. In the US, Fabian's winds produced heavy surf along the North Carolina coastline, drowning one man.
