Hurricane Lili
Footage of Hurricane Lili's inner eyewall intercepted by a band of storm chasers in 2002. Lili was the 2nd major hurricane of the 2002 Atlantic hurricane season. Lili's maximum wind speed was 145mph, and caused over $1.01 billion in damages. There were also 16 fatalities, 14 of them directly caused by the hurricane. Crops and livestock in the Antilles received severe damage, and in other Carribean nations there was widespread infrastructure damage. In the US, the hardest hit area was Vermillion Parish in Louisiana, where the landfall took place. It dealt major damage to almost 4000 homes, and 20 buildings were destroyed.
