Rain and Hail in Afghanistan
If you thought Afghanistan was just a hot and dry place, this video will make you think twice. Afghanistan, in reality, actually features every extreme of climate and weather. During the summer it is extremely hot, and in the winter it's extremely cold. The northeast mountain regions are subarctic, and the mountains bordering Pakistan, a fringe effect of the monsoon brings tropical air. At times, this tropical air can travel all the way to central and southern Afghanistan, which brings increased humidity and rain. Blizzards and hailstorms occur during the winter, like in this video. The noise you hear in the video isn't the machine gun; it's the sound of hail hitting the vehicle. Quite surprising isn't it?
