Hurricane Fran

Hurricane Fran was one of the powerful storms in the 1996 Atlantic hurricane season that made landfall in North Carolina. It was a Category 3 storm, formed on August 23. It had sustained winds of up to 195km/h and directly caused the death of 26 people. It also caused $3.2 billion in damages and affected 6 areas: North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.
