Hurricane Charley
In August of 2004, Florida was struck with a Category-4 hurricane called Charley. Hurricane Charley was the second strongest hurricane to ever hit the US next to Andrew in 1992. With a maximum wind speed of 240km/h, Charley caused 35 deaths and $17.8 billion in damages. This video shows the catastrophic damage in the communities of Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda. The winds are so strong it tears off the roof of one of the smaller buildings! Charley was a bit smaller in size compared to the other hurricanes but it is ranked as the 4th costliest weather disturbance by the United States. It just proves that size doesn't matter! Whenever there's a storm coming, no matter how big or small, you should always be prepared. Get weather news, weather forecasts, and weather reports from MyWeatherLive.com and always be prepared!
