Hurricane Destruction
An amazing video from National Geographic showing hurricanes ripping apart houses and battering coastlines, while sending deadly debris flying through the air. Hurricanes are also known as 'typhoons' and 'tropical cyclones'. This type of weather is characterized by a low pressure center and thunderstorms that produce strong winds and heavy rain. They usually form over tropical regions of the Earth, and in Maritime Tropical air masses. In the Northern Hemisphere, cyclones move in a counterclockwise rotation; in the Southern Hemisphere they move in the opposite direction. Their strong winds can damage vehicles, buildings, bridges, and many other objects, which in turn become deadly flying projectiles. Do not go outside during a hurricane!
