Hurricane Wilma
Hurricane Wilma, a Category-5 hurricane, was the strongest ever recorded in the Atlantic basin. Reaching a maximum sustained wind speed of 295km/h, Wilma killed at least 63 people, and cost the US about $29.1 billion in damages. Winds and flooding made the damage even more extensive and widespread. When the hurricane finally passed, they Keys were engulfed by the Gulf of Mexico. On top of that, there was also widespread infrastructural damage, including power, and water systems. This footage was taken during the height of the storm, in the Southwest Florida coast in Belle Maede, on October 23-25, 2005.
