Typhoon Xangsane
Typhoon Xangsane was a deadly weather disturbance that ravaged several countries including the Philippines (where it was known as "Milenyo"), Vietnam, and Thailand in 2006. It was equivalent to a Category-4 typhoon in terms of 1-minute average wind speeds. It made landfall initially in the Philippines, where it battered the northern islands with heavy rains and strong winds, causing landslides and flooding everywhere. It made its 2nd landfall in Vietnam, doing the same thing, as well as in Thailand. The storm killed at least 279 people, and caused $747 million in damage. This footage was taken in one of the northern regions of the Philippines (Manila), which was right under the storm, and you can see just how strong the winds are. It caused widespread power outages from knocking down several power lines. For more amazing weather videos, visit www.MyWeatherLive.com.
