Hurricane Cleo
Home footage of Hurricane Cleo and the destruction it caused in Lake Worth, Florida on August 1964. Because the video is old, it has color problems and has no audio, but you can almost hear the sound of the strong wind anyway. Cleo was the first major hurricane of the 1964 season, and was one of the longest-lived. It was compact yet powerful; it killed 217 people and caused about $1.30 billion in damages. The area with the most fatalities was Haiti with 192. Cleo's heaviest rains fell along the coast of the southeast United States, and heavy damage was seen as far as central Florida.
