Trees, Powerlines Hit Hard by Storm
A severe ice storm in central Oklahoma brought down trees and powerlines while frozen rain continued to fall. Most importantly, weather like this exponentially increases the chances of road accidents. For one thing, the roads become extremely slippery due to ice, and drivers who don't watch their speed might find themselves in serious trouble. Also, when the trees or the powerlines become too heavy with ice they fall down and can hit passing vehicles--an accident that even the most careful of people can easily get into. Even if you don't get injured your car insurance bills should be painful enough if you're not careful. So before setting out on an icy day be sure to see weather reports.
