Tornado Flips Over a Truck
Another frightening close encounter with a tornado! A strong EF-1 (about 110 mph) twister passes between a truck and in front of the chaser's vehicle on a stormy night in March 1998. The chaser's car isn't hit but the truck right in front of him flips over. Fortunately no one was injured. The tornado itself isn't visible but radars in Miami detected a tornadic vortex signature and damage in the area was found to have the swirling pattern indicating the passing of a tornado. Observe the power flashes though, they get closer and closer until the truck tips over--another telltale sign of a tornado. For more extreme weather videos go to MyWeatherLive.com.
