One-of-a-kind Tornado Footage
This is one of the more unusual tornado-related phenomena. Some people call them "sisters", others "bow-tie funnel", and basically they are two tornadoes joined together at the smaller end of the funnel. It occrus when converging winds in a multi-vortex cell collide and spin in opposite directions. They become one main mesocyclone, but they will not touch the ground while they are joined. This video is a view from underneath the joined funnels. The video is short because the videographer ran away when he thought it got too dangerous. This one happened on May 1998 in California.
