Xenia Tornado
This was one of the deadlier tornadoes in the 1974 tornado outbreak. Out of the 148 that hit thirteen states that day, this tornado in Xenia, Ohio, destroyed numerous structures completely, blew train cars over, and swept away several houses. A total of 34 people were killed and 1,500 injured in Xenia alone. The Xenia tornado received an F5 rating--the worst rating for a tornado. This video was taken by a 16-year-old Xenia High student using an 8mm camera, who braved the extreme weather and stared death in the face to give us this amazing footage of one of the deadliest natural disasters ever.
