Will the rain continue????

Do you think the floding in the midwest will continue as we head deeper into Summer, or will the rain mainly shut off?

Rain or Drought?

I think is depends if they are looking towards a rainy summer. Some people don't hope to have the flooding or a drought so its difficult to see, If the flooding went away and rain subsided for a bit how would the future look in the next few months if a drought was upon them? I think it would be difficult to forecast such a thing.

I know someone who can

I know someone who can forecast such a thing. His name is Gary Lezak, and he is the chief meteorologist for NBC Action News in Kansas City. The NBC Action News weather team has been the most accurate in Kansas City for 5 years in a row and counting. He uses his thoery, The LRC (Lezak's Recurring Cycle) to make short term, and recently, longterm forecasts which have been amazingly accurate. The pattern has been cycling every 50 days or so, since it set up in October, and now that it is July, it is in a weakening state, but still exists. In the next few weeks, the Flow aloft, and jet stream will be at their weakest point, and so will this years LRC, and then it will begin it's transistion into next falls brand new, and unique LRC. Every year is unique, and the cycle incraments are unique every year.

I think there will be an increased flooding threat over the upper midwest, as the jet stream continues to lift north, and weaken, taking the main storm path with it. There may also be a continued flood threat across parts of the southern plains as these weakened cold fronts stall out, and disturbences ride along them. I think there will be a few MCS's that will track across parts of Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois which may dump heavy rains.

You cannot really trust the LRC this time of year as it is weakening, and about to begin its transitioning phase, and this goes hand in hand of what the CPC will tell you. They will say, that fall is the most unreliable time of year to trust a seasonal foreast.
