Many experts say Global warming is not as bad as advertised. Some say it's worse. What is your take on this topic ?

Al Gore, no clue. This is a very tough subject to make a firm point and belief and have truthful insight.

As for Global Warming.....Tough to say Rob. No one knows. I am a firm believer in patterns and cycles. But, nobody can not say that the Earth has not warmed. It has and is. The sad thing is that if there is a catastrophy or a  severe event in a certain area, then Global Warming takes the blame. Like Katrina, it hit New Orleans and devestated the area. They blamed it on Global Warming. The tornado that hit Atlanta. It got blamed on Global Warming. In the end, no one can prove it. Has the Earth experience rapid warmth? Yes. Has the Earth experienced rapid cool downs? Yes. With all of the people who talk about sun spot cycles and how the data they record is shockingly similar over a number of years and numerous instances, you have to take that into account. I do think that we will see a big cool down in the years to come. And when most of us are very old or have passed away, the Earth may experience the exact opposite. I have no clue, but we shall see soon.

It's common sense

And let me tell you why.  How long has the Earth existed?  No one really knows for sure, but it's been around for a while.  The population of our planet has grown exponentially in the past century.  So wouldn't it make sense that our carbon emissions have increased?  We create these emissions just by being alive.  We all know that we exhale carbon dioxide.  If Al Gore wants to do his part, maybe he should just stop breathing and his "carbon footprint" will cease to exist.

This whole global warming debate can be attacked on so many fronts.  If people would listen to those of us that understand how weather patterns work and not Al Gore they would see the truth.  Weather occurs in cycles.  What do you think would have happened if Al Gore was alive before the last Ice Age?  Did you catch the ironic part of my last sentence?  The "Last" Ice Age.  Cyclic maybe?  Oh, and the fact that the Earth has cooled over the past 10 years.  But no one wants to talk about that.

I love it!

I think more research is needed

This is a HOT topic but no one brings up the airport sensors.  These airports are becoming more and more like heat islands. More runways/terminals hotels....warmer warmer as the cement tarmacs grow.

This means the temps of most US cities are getting warmer ad warmer.  This is a fact in many cities over 100,000 with airports.  Just another group of numbers that are going to go up.

George Carlin !!!!

''  I remember,  The Great Comediene George Carlin once did a very funny peice about ,  AIRPORT WEATHER  "  If I remember ;  He said in his own jokingly manner ;  Why the @#% do we care about the weather at the airport ?  Nobody lives at the %#@ - @#% airport !!!  Well in a way he brings up a point that you did Rob G.  The concrete Island affect is very real , and this does not truely represent the out-lying areas , these areas usually yield the heat of the day in the form of  Radiational Cooling !!  So with that component being factored into the debate;  with the arguement being too many airport readings means more data being recorded with higher temperatures,  we can see an inflated skew towards Global Warming...  Oh and George Carlin also said that this Planet we live on,  will be here long after we are gone ,  because the Planet is going to "  Shake us off ,  as if we were a case of Bad Fleas"  !!!!!!

there's some merit to it

I do believe the Earth goes thru it's own weather cycles, but also we are doing some damage too.

Well

I don't want to believe it. If in some way he is true, then that would be fine. But I believe what's happening now is a cycle...

Farewell George, R.I.P.

Well the airport Joke Died with the Jokester, George Carlin has passed away, his joke about Weather at the Airport will live with me and many of us Weather Fans.. Whenever I hear a report from an Airport Observation I think of George Carlin.. Nobody CARES ABOUT THE WEATHER AT THE AIRPORT, he said this in a way that can not be printed on this family site, but he said it in his unique funny explanitory way.. He was different and an original at his craft, like him or not he was part of our culture,  and a part of our past has left us.. I would have loved to see him and Al (Goreon) debate about Global Warming,  er.. Global non Warming ! !

I do not believe Al Gore...after all he does have his own private jet...ha. Global Warming is just a hoax. For example I lived in Seattle and we got snow in April...I cannot be convinced of global warming.
