NAM BACKS OFF FRIDAY SNOW A LITTLE, GFS A LITTLE LESS TOO (NYC TO DC METRO)

Just getting everyone caught up on the late night runs for the snow on Friday. Not much changes with the exception of the NAM and GFS shaved off about .01 to .02 liquid. It still looks like snow showers with a coating to 1 in most places from Philly Metro south. NYC and Boston will see flurries and s few snow showers. Baltimore could get a coating and DC metro probaly just a snow showers with mainly flurries.

SNOW SHOWERS and LIGHT SNOW UPDATE NYC TO D.C. METRO (FRIDAY EVENT)

So here we are looking at snow flurries, snow showers and even a period of light snow for the next 24-36 hours. This is interesting weather this early in the season so let's get another update for you. If you are viewing from NYC and the Baltimore/Washington DC area your Winter Outlook will be out by 6pm today, I got a little behind with current weather and potential for snow short and long term, thanks for your patience.

SN0W SHOWERS MAY ACCUMULATE ON FRIDAY FOR PHILLY TO BALTIMORE/DC

It's not a this point but the models are trying to squuze out .03 to .05 liquid for Friday. This would mean snow showers with a light accumulation of a coating to 1/2 at most on grassy areas. It's not much but anything in November is a Bonus as I say. Further north the NYC area may not see anything more than flurries. The NAM has only .01' for the NYC metro so we'll see how this mini event plays out.

BWI was showing .06 on the GFS this morning and i'm waiting for the new run tonight. My th...

WINTER-LIKE PATTERN BRINGS A FEW CHANCES OF SNOW THIS MONTH

I have been tracking the GFS model and it does hint at some snow for the Mid Atlantic region but this is later this month not this week. I do see the snow showers on Friday with .03 precip for Philly. By afternoon we could see wet snow or light rain showers, more of a teaser if anything else. The system on the 24th is off the books right now buta more significanr system could be brewing toward the 30th of November. This is all part of the small early winter events I mentioned in the Winter Ou...

SNOW FOR CENTRAL and LOWER DELAWARE and EASTERN SHORE OF MARYLAND

I'm watching an upper air disturbance off the Delaware coast tonight and it should change periods of rain over to wet snow. This is not a big event but some areas could see 1 of wet snow mainly on grassy areas. Areas like Dover, Milford, Easton, Seaford could see a slushy 1 with less at the beaches of Delaware.

NOV 23 SYSTEM TO BE WATCHED, CHANCE OF MIXED PRECIP

It is about ten days away but we do have a few hints of rain and/or snow around the 23rd of this month. Yes as we all know the GFS plays tricks all the time with systems this far out but it's still fun to watch as we head into the winter of 2008-2009. It does look like a LONG WAVE trough or push of cold wather digs in the East from November 21-24, the question is how real and how strong will it be ?

The early call to get snow means several things have to happen. The LONG WAVE TROUGH has to...
