Red Flag Warnings

There currently are two areas to focus on when it comes to fire weather: the Lower Mountain west and Florida. These two areas are currently under a fire warning, meaning it is not a good idea to be burning outside in these areas. Fires could quickly get out of control, even to the most experienced outdoorsmen. So, why are these regions currently under these warnings? From Arizona through Texas, there is currently a gusty Southwest wind over an area of dry land with very low relative humilities, which would only fuel a potential wildfire. The Red Flag Warning should continue into Wednesday as the strong southwest wind continues, before a cool front sweeps through the region.

As for Florida, moisture associated with the low pressure off the eastern coast, will make their way onshore leading to increasing RH and lowering the threat of a major fire event. Nevertheless, be careful out there.
