LAKE SNOW 1-2" HAS FALLEN, SNOW SHOWERS W/UPPER LOW (PHILLY METRO)
Posted: (November 21, 2008 07:42 am)

SURPRISE ! SURPRISE ! The lake snow in the last 24 hours has dumped 1-2" of snow in some areas of the Delaware Valley.  Boyertown in Berks County 2", Skippack in Montoc 2", Media 2" in Delco. That band is now breaking down and is now becoming part of the upper level Low. Expect the snow showers this morning to roll down from State College with a coating to 1" of additional snow. Some of this will mix and change to rain showers by later this morning. Enjoy the early season treat !

PURPLE IS THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY !

Tappering Down
Posted: (November 21, 2008 10:41 am) by: KevinReilly

Hey all the snow is tappering down just a few left over flurries and skies are breaking for some sunshine as a northwest flow is beginning to resume.

On average 2-4 inch band extending from Southeastern Berks County through Chester County ... West chester, Westown, along Route 926 and Route 202 to Granite Run Mall and Route 252 in Media along the Baltimore Pike Corridor.

There were reports of roads being closed such as the Media By-Pass and Baltimore Pike to just name a few along with other hilly roads in Eastern Chester County

It was bad there on the roads it is a heavy wet snow at 30-33 degrees and is packing down on the roasds.

Snows should start tappering off here soon from north west to southeast.

intersting thing is that we have the winds NE around the upper low near us ..

Next week looks very interesting.

White Thanksgiving hmmmmm I have been calling 15-25% so it is almost pay day as to yes or no

At 7am, Media Bypass was horrible. Bad 3-car accident heading south. That road is always snow covered and dangerous. Just talked to my husband, still snowing heavily in Aston, he estimates about 3 inches on ground... back roads covered, Concord Road spotty.

Bunny Thanks For The Update
Posted: (November 21, 2008 08:39 am) by: KevinReilly

Media at Baltimore Pike and route 252 was completely snow covered as of 7:20 I can only imagine what it's like now if it continued to snow and it has.

Observation

Aston, DelCo... coming down steadily with about a couple of inches on the ground, spotty road coverage.

But at work in Gladwyne, MontCo... less than an inch with just wet roads.

No Problem Rob

Yep, I am at school now just a few left over flurries down by the airport. It was snowing a good 1-2 inches an hour in a band about 2 miles wide amazing. This small 2 mile wide band or so if stayed stantionary and intact would drop 3 inches of snow perhaps up to 4 inches.

At the intersection of Baltimore Pike and Route 252 there in Downtown Media roads were compeletly snow covered and visibility was about 20 yds or so or less. I drove down to Springfield about 2 miles and roads were just wet and snow was then ligth.

A very localized event that dropped up to 3 inhces in places.

West Goshen and West Chester along Route 926 was sounding pretty bad where hilly roads were actually closed due to many accidents.

North and East of the city just a few snow showers and nothing like what was happening further south and west.

The main band passed through southeastern Berks, Central Chester, Central Delaware Counties this is where the band set up and the heaviest snows were experienced generally 2-4 inhces on average.
