The game has been called for tonight ! I really feel they waited for that run because they did not want to end the World Series on a rainout. I see their point in some way but they should have called the game in the 5th. The stolen base and soft bounce from Burrell was from the rain, and that cost the Phillies that run. So what does the weather look like the next few days.
Well tomorrow is not much better with cold temps and yeah a chance of snow. The 850mb temps or temps at 5,550 easily supports snow over Philadelphia. In fact you can get as low as 1,500 feet and still get snow, that is about the height of 1.5 Comcast Towers. So the question is do you play in the cold of 37 tomorrow night, some rain and maybe a few wet flakes mixed in.
The storm off the South New England coast is dragging down cold air and NY state is getting snow tonight. This system could get even bigger and make it rain past the 9pm ending tomorrow night ? IF they cancel tonight and tomorrow could Cole Hamels go again due to limited pitches ? Could Bret Myers come in since he was a starter/relief pitcher. Not sure if I would want Myers in the Pressure cooker but who know what they could do ?
Lets look at the models below and see the latest data just in.............

So now you have to look at tomorrow and think about drizzle/light rain/snow showers and wind chill or wait until a better day Wednesday. The field is a mess but its sand based to they could get it dried up. I think you wait until Wednesday. The new GFS just in matches well with the NAM and NGM. That tells me the game would start after 9pm mostly likely, maybe 9:30pm. Predicting hour by hour is tough so this could change tomorrow, esp. with a developing fall system.

Received first measurable Snow of the Winter season today in Lower Bucks, .03", first time I ever remember Snow before Halloween. It was Snowing extremely heavy all the way into Ne Philadelphia, The Airport in Ne Philly had to have recorded Snow which would make it official.
It was snowing so hard it was covering the roadways, driving was actually becoming slick, it changed back to rain within about two hours.
It's Official.....

Looks like a lot of up sloping in the mountains of north Jersey...Eastern winds going uphill means lots of rain.
Snowing

My brother while driving through Quakertown gave me a call this morning and said it was snowing hard and even sticking on the grass and on his windshield while he was driving. Just a cold rain where I am in CNJ, 39 degrees.
i am still drying out......

I am here in western PA with freezing cold temps and still no snow just rain...dont bank on snow or wet flakes imo in the city. NGM is a horrible model but I do see a sharp RH gradient showing signs of a sharp cutoff to the rain by 10pm.....gameee on..
Key differences from tonight to tomorrow night.....the impressive upper level jet dynamics cancelled this game...they will not exist over PHL tomorrow.

Agree Rob

Snow Wise:
Wet flakes if any mainly north and west into Lehigh Valley
The storm needs to take on a negative tilt component to really dig in and draw the cold air rapidly southeast ward... there may be too much of a southerly component for now... flakes on the back end maybe
The Game
Win it the right way without weather issues or complaints.. I am patient for one more day
Kevin
Yeah I see it Kevin but...

Prolem is temps at 1,500 feet to surface, they may just miss by a few degrees. I do think a few wet flakes mix in but not a real snow like in winter of course. How wild would it be to see Citizens Bank covered in snow tomorrow....just nuts.
Still think Bud Seiling did this to save his ass on calling a world series in a rainout. I also know it would leave a bitter taste in our mouths to end it on a rainout. It would be hard to celebrate that with Lidge closing, know what I mean
I Think This is Snow Wee Hours

Hey Rob,
score the runs and bring in Madson then lidge to end this thing when ever it resumes.
I think we see snow especially north and west or even to Philadelphia by the Wee hours of the Morning.
Temps:
2PM 55
6PM 48
8PM 44
11:41PM 37 Media
Snow is possible
Hey

Yeah, I agree, they should of stopped it in the 5th, then we would of won, thats an official game,
anyway, im waiting for the soundings to come out, but it looks as if N&W burb's could see some good accumulating snows out of this, especially past lehigh
