COLDER & SNOW FOR LATE MONTH
Posted: (October 20, 2008 12:20 pm)

The GFS model has been hinting at colder weather toward the end of October and I am starting to lean in that direction.  The October outlook for lake effect snow toward the end of the month is on track with Lake Michigan and Lake Superior the main source of that lake snow.  We could see some east of Lake Ontario and even toward the Buffalo area but that will start to play out in the next few days.

The colder air mass is scheduled to get into the region from October 27-October 30th.  The talk of snow in the Mid Atlantic region is just to far way at this point.  I would not be surprised to see wet snow showers and flurries for areas north of the Lehigh Valley, Pocono Region, N & W of NYC and the CT River Valley.  These wet snow showers would be at night, not sure if the daytime temps would support snow with this air mass.

The staff here at Myweatherlive will have maps, graphics and more info right here on the site by tonight with the next computer model run.

Severe weather Blog?

I was wondering White-Out, if you are going to adjust your Title Page: To... 'Welcome to Whiteout's Winter Weather Blog', I like the way you lay out the Regional Discussion. When we get into Winter time will you be able to forecast the Jersey Shore (Mainland) Area? This is the part of the Region that is 'Always' in question with reguards to Rain/Snow/Ice.
