OMAR ROLLS OUT, ANY MORE TROPICAL SYSTEMS ?
Posted: (October 17, 2008 11:44 am)

Omar is over the open Atlantic and it could bounce back to a weak tropical storm this afternoon.  The only real concern at this hour is the shipping lanes for boats/ships crossing the Central Atlantic the next few days.  Do we have any other features we need to watch today and tonight ?

The UKMET model did the best for the actual track forecast vs. predicted forecast.  We here at myweatherlive did predict a Category 3 hurricane and that is what crossed the islands with winds of 125 mph.  This will go down as the strongest hurricane at landfall so far this season.

The National Hurricane Center is watching an area of interest SE of Barbados but this looks to be to close to the South American coast as it moves westward the next few days.
