With all the dry weather lately grassy areas and forests are very dry.  The timber is ripe for burning.  The NYC National Weather Service, as well as your NYC CBS station urges all those who may be involved in any kind of burning over the next few days to exercise caution.  If you are going camping be careful with your fire.  If you SMOKE....DON"T throw your lit cigarettes out the window of your car.
