Looks like spring is really starting to kick in around the Mid Atlantic region with temperature ranging from the low to mid 70's in southern PA, 60's in NJ and even almost hitting 70 near the PA/NY border. However, just look over those mountains and you'll see 50's and 40's, evident of that cooler more dense air not quite making it over the moutains and allowing for downsloping air to dry out and heat up. With the passage of the low tomorrow causing instability we'll see a greater chance for showers. No major accum. looks likely, however, the ridges of the mountains could see a flake or two. A broad trough will move into the region with a cooler air mass, and bring slightly below normal temps for Monday and Tuesday. However, we will experience a rebound later in the week as that High pressure that was funneling in cooler temps will move down to our southeast and set up a nice return flow helping to bump up the temps. Something to note however: the NAM, GFS and EURO are all playing a system to form in the SE and ride up along the gulf stream. With no mean wind in the forecast this low could close off and depending where it is in respect to the coastline, could caus some minor flooding or beach erosion. Something to keep our eye on as the week goes by.
One more thing I want to stress. NERF(Northeast fiver forecast center) has put out a warning for upstate New York. Moderate flooding will be taking place for the 13th and 14th of April. Be cautious of flood waters and always remember. TURN AROUND, DONT DROWN!!
