Its looking like a soggy 4th of July holiday weekend for portions of the Ohio Valley. A cold front that will blast the Midwest with heavy thunderstorms later this evening will move southeast into the region by tomorrow night. The front will begin to feel the effects of an area of high pressure to the east that will slow it down to a crawl by Friday afternoon.
This front will become the focal point to numerous showers and thunderstorms as it seperates very warm and humid air to the south from cooler air to the north. A series of disturbances will ride along it bringing reinforcing shots of precpitation over the next several days.
Where the front lies will play a huge role in who gets wet this holiday weekend and who doesn't. As of now it looks like the front will stretch from the Central Plains Sates eastward along the Ohio River and up along the Mason Dixon Line. So within a hundred miles or so in both directions expect to see some rain.
