Tropical Storm Hanna moves further up the coast with winds still 65 mph, the question will be will this come in as a hurricane or tropical storm ? Lets take a look at the latest.

The National Hurricane Center looks to be taking the furthest east model in their latest track. I buy into the Wilmington NC landfall, over Virginia Beach VA and now over Ocean City MD and Rehoboth Beach DE. This is about a shift of 10 miles west on my thinking from earlier for VA Beach and North. Not a big change but this could bring more rain to the N & W burbs of Baltimore, DC and esp. Philly. You did see on the other blog that the NAM has places getting 4-5" of rain. I think sometimes these models don't really pick up on tropical moisture as well as mid latitude systems.
MY THINKING AT THIS POINT....
Not much change except for the track north of Virginia Beach VA. I do think the area to watch is the N & W burbs of Baltimore, Philly and maybe NYC. The western side will spread plenty of moisture as it interacts with the hills. I do expect some decent numbers in those burbs with 2-4" in the big cities and 3-5" in the N & W burbs. Wind issues will be confined to the coast from Wilmington NC, Virginia Beach VA up to the Delaware Beaches.

Seems to me the Rain Estimates are Preliminary Estimates. Even though the Storm will be near the Coast the Rotation will send High amounts Inland, and in the Higher Terrain, It just always seems to happen that way around here, and I will get the lesser amounts on the Coast. 3-5" could be a starting point, but there is always a Convergeance Area that gets Newsworthy amounts, even though Hannah will move by at a Moderate Speed..
